Describe the cargo
Give the goods description, package count, gross weights and dimensions. Include packaging details and any special handling or storage conditions. Mark estimates clearly and identify information that is still outstanding.
State the locations and handovers
Specify where the work starts and ends, including the port, warehouse or receiving point. Explain which party is arranging transport, inspection, storage and onward delivery.
Set out the timing
Include the expected readiness date and required completion or delivery date. Identify vessel schedules, access restrictions and other dependencies that could affect the work.
Ask for a clear scope
The quotation should identify the included activities, charges, exclusions and responsibilities. If a commercial delivery term has been agreed, give the exact term and named place.
Compare like for like
Check that quotations cover the same locations, cargo assumptions and activities. Review validity periods and any conditions that could change the price or timing before confirming the work.
