Our service
Quantity, packing and marking
We check agreed quantities, package identification, packing and markings against the relevant shipment information and inspection instructions.
Condition and damage surveys
We document visible cargo condition and damage, supported by photographs and observations. Where a claim requires a specialist investigation, the evidence and expertise needed are agreed separately.
Loading and discharge observations
We attend the agreed stages of an operation to record cargo condition, handling and discrepancies. Marine vessel and quantity surveys are described on our Marine Services page.
Sampling and testing requirements
Where an assignment requires sampling or laboratory results, we agree the sampling approach, testing arrangements and required recognition before the work is accepted.

Frequently asked questions
Is inspection the same as testing?
Inspection examines specified characteristics or activities. Laboratory testing measures particular properties using a test method. We agree each part of the work separately.
Can a survey support a damage claim?
A condition survey can provide relevant evidence. Tell us how the report will be used so that the required attendance, records and specialist input can be planned.
What if a particular accreditation is required?
Include the accreditation or approval requirement in your enquiry. We will confirm whether the proposed service and reporting arrangements meet that requirement before acceptance.
